Club Statement on coronavirus

The Club has issued the following statement: Club Update 17.03.2020
We wanted to write to you at this unprecedented time recognising that many of you will be feeling anxious about Covid-19 and what might happen in the coming days and weeks.
Firstly, we wanted to reassure you, that should Whitley Bay Football Club be notified of a confirmed case of Covid-19 amongst our staff, players or volunteers. We will follow the appropriate medical guidance and keep our members informed.
Our priority remains the health, safety and wellbeing of you all, and as part of this we would encourage everyone to be thoughtful and supportive towards each other during this unprecedented time.
Our safeguarding team, directors and juniors committee are working hard to support the decisions made by the organising bodies in football. The National FA the Northern League, the Northumberland Junior’s League and the Northumberland FA have confirmed that all scheduled fixtures have been suspended in the coming weeks. As a result, Whitley Bay Football Club’s seniors and junior teams and our participating groups will be ceasing all activity until further notice.
The situation remains fluid and we will inform the Whitley Bay Football Club Community of any changes or developments in the coming weeks.
We would like to thank all our supporters, players and parents for your support in this difficult and challenging time.
Stay safe, follow the guidance, keep positive and look after one another.
Yours in sport
Board of Directors and the Juniors Committee
