Following the massive imbalance in our fixture list over the next three months, the Club requested changes to alleviate the problem. The response from the League has been to bring forward our derby game at home to North Shields from Boxing Day to Saturday 15th December, when we did not previously have a game.
While this means that Saturday’s game against Penrith will not now be our last home game before Christmas, we do not now have a Boxing Day fixture and are still left with a series of six home games out of seven after Christmas. With these games coming during what is usually the worst period of the winter weather, it is to be hoped that the pitch will cope with the large number of games scheduled during January and February.
