Manager Andy Gowens felt that silly mistakes and a failure to test the keeper were Whitley’s downfall in their 3-1 defeat at Penrith. “I think first half we matched them but once they got the second goal I think the heads went down and they bullied us after that. Again it’s silly mistakes that are costing us and they’re coming at vital times of the game. The first goal, we were right on top then a silly mistake by Rhys lets them get in and Martyn (Coleman) finishes a really good goal. When he gets a chance he doesn’t miss. We’ve just been talking about it, that we had lots of play around the mid third but we didn’t work the keeper enough. The only time we did was when we scored. We had a lot of possession around the middle third but that doesn’t hurt anybody.”
