Reserve team manager Gavin Hattrick, who was in caretaker charge of the side for the game against Seaham, had only a few days to prepare for the match and was impressed with the effort and commitment of his team. “Before the game the dressing room atmosphere was really brilliant, but conceding that goal in the first three minutes was a bit of a blow. But after that I thought the lads did really well, trying to play football in difficult conditions.
At half time everyone was relaxed and we still thought we’d get a result. We really tried to play good football, what the fans like, but we got caught on the break trying to push on in the last few minutes.”
“They’re a good bunch of lads; I thought they were brilliant, they gave 110% which was great after the week they’ve had. It was a shame we had to make last minute changes when Callum and Liam had to drop out. Callum especially was a big miss with all his experience.”
