After what he admitted had been a whirlwind 24 hours when as a trialist he scored a hat trick for York City Reserves and then signed a professional contract with the Minstermen, Alex Kempster took time out to send a message to everyone at Whitley Bay.
“I just want to take this time to thank everybody for their well wishes on my move to York City. It’s been a pleasure playing for the Bay over the past four years. I would personally like to thank Nashy for bringing me to the club and I’d like to thank the whole management team for making my time there so enjoyable.” He then paid tribute to the fans “I’d really like to thank all the fans for their continued support. I’m also very proud to have captained such a great team this year and I hope they go on to great things. A chance at full time football is something I couldn’t miss out on. All the best for the rest of the season, it’s been a pleasure!”
“Howay the Bay!”
