A Whitley Bay side made of largely of reserve team players held West Allotment Celtic to a 2-2 draw at Druid Park tonight (Friday). An own goal by Jack Byerley gave Allotment the lead after 33 minutes but on the stroke of half time Regan Paterson levelled for Whitley. Paterson then headed Whitley in front from a rebound after a shot hit the bar and it looked as if they would hold on for a third consecutive pre-season victory but seven minutes from time Allotment equalised with a good finish.
