We are pleased to announce our first new signing for the 2021/22 season. Prolific striker Daniel Kent has agreed terms and will be joining the club from newly promoted Crook Town, where he scored 44 league goals in 53 games. Prior to his time at Crook, Kent played for Willington, Esh Winning and Newton Aycliffe. He was the Second Division’s top scorer when last season was cut short and was a key member of Crook’s promotion winning side.
Joint managers Tony Fawcett and Derek Forrest told us “we are delighted to secure ‘Kenty’ for the forthcoming season. He is an extremely valuable asset as he is a goal scorer. He is someone we have had our eye on signing since we took charge at Whitley and we feel his playing style and his personality will fit right in to our philosophy.”
On agreeing terms to come to Hillheads, Kent explained “I want to get back into playing in Division 1 at a club that can challenge for things. I believe I can do this at Whitley Bay. It’s a club that has a good history. They play a style that will suit my own game, and they have a management team that know my game. I would love to win something at this level and keep scoring lots of goals for the club.”
Welcome to Whitley Bay, Daniel!
