Another two commit their futures to the Bay

We are happy to announce that two more of Whitley’s very promising young players will be extending their contracts into the new season. Midfielder Lewis Orrell and striker Michael Annang-Colquhoun are both still teenagers and impressed during last season, Orrell being an almost ever-present in the side, making 38 appearances and scoring six goals. The 19 year old is clearly anxious for football to resume. “I’m just looking forward to getting back to training and playing games and trying to kick myself and the club on in the right direction. I’m looking forward to working under Tony and Derek and just excited for the season.”

Colquhoun, who is also just 19, became a regular in the side after a successful loan spell at Bedlington last season and can’t wait to get back out on the pitch. “I’m itching to get started again, also buzzing to meet all the new and existing lads and get a bit of crack going. I’m really looking forward to the hard work because I feel there’s unfinished business from last season and want to show them the performances they deserve. I’m feeling confident for the season ahead.”

*Defender Luke Taylor, who as previously announced is also staying at Hillheads told us “I’m looking forward to this season. I’m delighted with extending my contract with this successful club. The very loyal and supportive fans make playing for Whitley Bay a pleasure. I can’t wait to get stuck into the new season, having that competitive feeling back on a Saturday afternoon. I’m looking forward to working with the new managers, having them develop me as a player and hopefully bringing a lot of success throughout this season. Howay The Bay!”

More player news, including our first new signings of the summer, will follow soon.
