Whitley’s new management duo Tony Fawcett and Derek Forrest have confirmed that the club’s two most experienced players will be staying at Hillheads. Craig McFarlane, who was appointed club captain last summer and Callum Anderson have both played over 350 games for Whitley Bay and will remain as contracted players when football eventually resumes. Both were members of the club’s FA Vase winning sides and Fawcett described them as ‘two of the best players in the Northern League’ and said he was excited to be working with them. Forrest added that it was great to have players of that quality at the club.
Further announcements regarding players staying at the club along with news of signings when confirmed will follow in due course.
