There will be an emotional atmosphere at Hillheads tomorrow (Saturday) when Whitley play Sunderland RCA in their first home game since the tragic death of Robbie Livermore. The hugely popular midfielder who won FA Vase and Northern League Championship honours during his time at the Club will be featured in a special edition of the match programme while players and spectators will pay their respects before kick off.
The game itself will be another tough test for Mick Mulhern’s men but this month’s form has been encouraging with a win and a draw against Dunston and Consett, the top two sides. Sunderland RCA always prove difficult opponents and when the teams met at Meadow Park back in October, the Ryhope side emerged with a narrow 3-2 victory. Whitley could include new on-loan signing Dan Wright in their squad as they seek to honour Livermore with a victory.
