This weekend Whitley face potentially their toughest league game of the season when they travel to top of the table Consett. The Steelmen are managed by former Bay Vase winner Chris Moore and their squad includes three players familiar to Whitley fans, Kyle Hayes, Ross Wilkinson and Matty Cornish. Consett have been among the front runners throughout the season but they are without a win in their last three games, having drawn against Bishop Auckland and Whickham before suffering a 2-0 defeat at home to Shildon in midweek.
The cold weather which is expected to continue over the weekend is unlikely to put the game at risk as Consett play on an artificial surface at their Belle View Stadium.
