Whitley face another tough task this weekend when they travel to south west Durham to take on West Auckland Town. Mick Mulhern’s team will be hoping to build on last Saturday’s outstanding performance when they shocked second top Dunston UTS with a 3-2 victory at Hillheads. West are currently seventh in the table and while their recent form has been mixed, they are always a difficult side to beat and Whitley will need to reproduce last weekend’s form if they are to add to their current points total and possibly climb a further place up the table.
Last Saturday West Auckland secured a dramatic extra time FA Vase victory at Sunderland RCA and in the 5th Round in three weeks time they will face Hebburn Town, the only other Northern League side still in the competition.
