Hebburn Town match preview

Whitley make the short journey to South Tyneside tomorrow to take on league leaders Hebburn Town, continuing their tough run of fixtures in what will be their third consecutive game against a top five side. Promoted from Division Two at the end of last season, Hebburn have made an impressive start to life in the top flight and in their ranks this season are two of Whitley’s legendary FA Vase heroes, Lee Kerr and Paul Chow.

Chris Bannon, who made his Bay debut in the narrow defeat at Sunderland RCA on Tuesday, retains the goalkeeper’s shirt with both Tom Flynn and Liam Powell sidelined through injury. Dan Taggart is also out injured but his absence is countered by today’s news that the club has signed Blyth Spartans striker Andrei Ardelean on a three month loan and the Romanian will go straight into the squad for tomorrow’s game.

Prolific striker Jack Foalle, now with 15 goals to his name this season, equalled a club record on Tuesday when he scored in his eighth consecutive game so a goal tomorrow would make the record his own.
