Manager Andy Gowens gave his assessment after the defeat at West Auckland, “It’s hard, it was a harsh final score. We were a bit fatigued at the end, four games in a week took its toll a bit but with so many missing with injuries, what can you do? We’ve five defenders all injured at the moment so it’s hard. To be honest I thought it was bit unfair to be two down at half time, I thought we were the better side in the first half but they were clinical with their chances. We’re creating chances but not scoring, we just can’t get it to go in at the moment and Michael was unlucky with the shot that hit the post. But we’re making silly mistakes, we’re standing off people and letting them have shots and getting balls in the box. We’re doing well and then making silly mistakes. It’s harsh but that’s football, it’s a tough learning curve. I felt sorry for Tom (Flynn), he’s been left exposed so often.”
