Midfielder Callum Patton has signed for Evo-Stik Premier Division side Whitby Town. A transfer deadline day signing from Morpeth in March 2016, he made a total of 59 appearances and scored 24 goals for the Bay. Last season he was top scorer with 20 goals but has started just five games in the current campaign, his only goal coming at Consett back in September.
We would like to thank Callum for his contribution to the club and we wish him the best of luck for the future.
In a message to the club he said he was ‘absolutely devastated’ to be leaving but had found his opportunities and minutes limited this season.
“I cannot thank the committee and chairman enough for what they have done for me and for allowing me to move on. I wish the lads the best of luck for the rest of the season, they’re a great bunch of lads who will go places if they stay together! I’ve thoroughly enjoyed my time at Whitley Bay and would love one day to come back as it’s a great club and the fan base for our league and level is quality. I’m looking forward to testing myself again and starting my new adventure!”
