Whitley have completed the signing of defender Josh Nearney from Hartlepool United. Josh played 14 games for Whitley last season while on a short term loan from Pools and manager Marc Nash said he was delighted to secure his signature on a permanent deal, having had to fight off strong competition from other clubs when he was recently made available by the National League side. We would like to welcome Josh back to Hillheads and hope he has a successful time at the club.
This news follows shortly after four other new signings were announced, including some of those who played as trialists during pre-season games. Young goalkeeper Callum Harley and strikers Scott Jasper and Cameron Cunningham have all put pen to paper, as has defender Graham Williams who was previously with the Reserves but was at Heaton Stannington last season.
